On the evening of the 6th of April 2023, Lagos played host to one of the most anticipated movie premieres of the year. The red carpet was rolled out for the stars and guests of the new movie “Gangs of Lagos”, a film that promises to be a gritty and intense depiction of the city’s underworld.

The premiere was held at the prestigious Eko Convention Center, where the elite of Lagos society gathered to witness the birth of what many believe will be a game-changing movie for Nollywood. The excitement in the air was palpable, as the guests arrived dressed in their finest outfits, ready to experience a night of glamour and excitement.

The movie, directed by Jade Osiberu, which is set in Isale Eko, Lagos, follows a group of childhood friends as they navigate their destiny in a bustling city. The film features a star-studded cast, including Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Chiké, Tobi Bakre, Bimbo Ademoye, Toke Makinwa, Funke Akindele, Ruth Kadiri, Osas Ighodaro and more.

The movie which was set to premiere on April 7th exclusively on Prime Video, is the first African original movie, premiering on the streaming platform.

Celebrities flaunted their gangster persona with style and sass on the red carpet.

“Gangs of Lagos” is a movie that is sure to leave a lasting impression on its audience. It is a movie that is not to be missed, and one that will undoubtedly be remembered as a landmark in the history of Nollywood.
