Asomani Teams Up with WorldG3nius for “Resilience Jersey”
As young people living in Ghana, West Africa, chasing your dreams is a struggle where you are consistently hit with one challenge or another, which makes it nearly impossible to push through. Our surroundings make it easier to give up than to chase our goals. But in this same place, there are others who have pushed the needle and are excelling. Their stories continue to inspire others that no matter the challenges presented, your dreams are too important to give up.
What was once a photography project has now become not just a piece of clothing but a marker to continuously encourage everyone that giving up is not an option. This is “Resilience,” a collaborative piece by two Ghanaian creative brands that embody the very never-giving-up spirit every Ghanaian youth must embrace to push through a challenging society that is built to kill dreams and ambitions.
Ghanaian celebrated photographer Nana Asomani, whose works are a unique representation of everyday mundane experiences Influenced by his surroundings and personal experiences, he collaborates with worldg3nius for his latest fashion piece, “Resilience.”

On what the collaboration and piece meant, Asomani said,
My collaboration with worldg3nius on the ‘Resilience’ jersey goes beyond just producing an outfit for sale but also tells stories unique to our lives.” The photos used in developing this outfit came from my photo project also titled “Resilience.” The goal of the shoot was essentially an ode to the idea of being resilient in the face of adversity, and the model, Kwame, I used for the shoot truly embodies this to the letter.
On why he collaborated with Worldg3nius, he added, “To further amplify this story, I believed it was important to bring this work to life in a way and form that can be embodied by anyone who believes in it.” Clothing was the most convenient and outstanding way to further express this message. Worldg3nius, in my opinion, was best suited to collaborate on something like this because, as storytellers, they express stories and tales in clothing in a manner that brings new meaning to what an outfit is.
The piece is currently on sale on Worldg3nius’s website.
