Shalom Blac, a pioneering Beauty and Lifestyle Icon from Nigeria, has been revolutionizing the beauty and social media landscapes with her innovative approach and captivating storytelling.

Shalom has embraced her journey as a burn survivor, using her experience to inspire and empower others across the globe. Renowned for her impactful collaborations with major brands such as Sephora, Samsung, Fenty Beauty, Warner, Target and many more. Shalom’s influence extends across leading publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Essence, Allure and Vogue.

CHARLES ‘CHUCKY’ VENN

Charles Venn is a British actor, known for his roles as Ray Dixon in EastEndersJacob Masters in CasualtyCurtis Alexander in Sky One‘s Dream Team, and Tremaine Gidigbi in Footballers’ Wives. He’s co-starred with actors such as Michael Jai White, Tom Frederic & Erik Palladino. In 2018 he took part in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Karen Clifton.  Charles also writes, directs and produces his own films. 

Charles will be on the catwalk for Samson Soboye and David Wej.

Adesope Olajide known professionally as Shopsydoo OR Energy Gawd, is a Nigerian UK-based Media personality, radio and television personality, talk show host, event host and podcaster. He is the host of The Afrobeats Podcast. 

Adesope is a long-term friend of AFWL having been the major media partner from the very beginning.  Come and meet Adesope at AFWL2024 where, we are sure, he’ll be behind or in front of a camera interviewing and schmoozing. We may even have him on the catwalk!

ZAINAB HASSAN

Flying the flag for Modest Beauty , Lifestyle and Fashion choices is Zainab Hassan.   Zainab is a content creator based in the UK and with exceptional taste, she celebrates women of colour with her vibrant, creative content. 

Her playful personality and love for modesty have drawn in a diverse loyal fanbase from all around the world.

MO SAMUELS

Mo Samuels, one half of the Grammy nominated music producers Sons of Sonix, or SOS,  producers of records for some of the world’s most famous artists, having worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Stormzy, Justin Bieber, and Jennifer Lopez, only to name a few. 

Friends since childhood, the two connected through their love and passion for music, and shared a dream to change the challenging British music scene, especially for Black musicians. 

Mo has also walked in New York and Paris Fashion Week.  Although he is going to have a better time with us!  Shhh!

MAXWELL D

Maxwell D, born in Dulwich, South London, developed a love for music through his father, DJ Natty B. He gained recognition in the UK Garage scene in 2001 with his hit single “Serious,” which charted in the UK and led to forming the influential group Pay As You Go Cartel.

Over the years, Maxwell has collaborated with artists like Ms Dynamite, Ludacris, and Kanye West, and featured in films and soundtracks, including “TED” and “Blindspotting.” He launched his mentoring company, Music Through the Bars, and continues to perform at major events, including the UK Garage Allstars Arena Tour in 2024.

MC BUSHKIN

Bushkin is The founder and front man of the Infamous group the heartless crew, known for their groundbreaking UK garage sound chart success and being the founders of UK grime music. 

During their peek the talented trio toured outside the UK and introduced UK Garage/Grime to the world, whilst sharing the stage with many internationally acclaimed artists. This later earned them a MOBO nomination and a UMA award for their contribution to music.

Now focused on his solo career as a recording artist, Bushkin’s undeniable charm makes him stand out from everyone else. His thought provoking lyrics, poignant delivery and energetic personality make him impossible to pigeonhole and extremely unique.

Although humbled by his accomplishments thus far, Bushkin hopes that through his new music and working with new artists on his label, BUSHBASH RECORDINGS, listeners and clubbers alike will feel his energy, passion and vision for music. The future is looking ‘Absolutely good you know!’
