TGMA 2024: See Full List of Nominees

The wait is finally over! The nominees for the much-anticipated 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), formerly known as the VGMA, have been officially unveiled. This announcement came about during the launch of the awards ceremony at the Grande Arena of the Accra International Conference center on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

This year’s ceremony promises to be a night of glitz, glamour, and recognition for the best and brightest talents in Ghana’s vibrant music scene.

The most coveted award, Artiste of the Year, boasts a star-studded lineup of nominees. The race is wide open, with established artists like Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, and King Promise going head-to-head. Kuami Eugene and Nacee round out the category, ensuring a nail-biting competition.

Fresh talent is always celebrated at the TGMAs. This year, the Best New Artist category is brimming with potential stars, featuring Banzy Banero, DSL, King Paluta, Maya Blu, Olivetheboy, and Oseikrom Sikani.

The TGMAs celebrate Ghana’s diverse musical landscape. From the pulsating beats of Hiplife/Hip Hop to the soulful melodies of Gospel, there’s a category for every sound. Nominees for Best Hiplife/HipHop Artiste include Amerado, Black Sherif, Medikal, Jay Bahd, King Paluta, and Eno Barony (in the “Best Rap Performance” category).

The awards extend recognition beyond Ghana’s borders. The Best African Artiste category features heavyweights like Tems, Rema, Asake, Burna Boy, Davido, and JZNG. The “Most Popular Song of the Year” category features a mix of established hits and rising stars, with nominees like “Hossana” by Banzy Banero, “Yaya” by Black Sherif, “Scar” by Gyakie ft JBee, and “Terminator” by King Promise generating major buzz.
