Ghanaian-born, Bologna-based designer Victor Reginald Bob Abbey-Hart (Victor-Hart) unveils the Defiants Collection 2025 as a provocative meditation on identity, power, and the silent codes that shape how we present ourselves in society. The campaign images—striking, minimalist, sculptural—offer a launchpad into his vision.

At its core, Defiants 2025 interrogates the idea of uniforms—not just in the literal sense, but as metaphors for roles, expectations, and archetypes. The collection’s description frames uniforms as symbolic of professions (doctor, banker, politician, lawyer) and suggests that these archetypes are ingrained in us from childhood. Victor-Hart reimagines them: stripped of constraint but infused with dignity, resistance, and futurity.

He cites dual influences: Ghanaian visual culture (as a conceptual lens) and “Italian elegance” (through the aesthetic prism of Dante Alighieri). The designer describes the goal as “blending futuristic shapes with military tailoring, functionality with Made in Italy craftsmanship.”

“Softness within strength, minimalism with impact” is the tension he seeks to animate. The collection is both a visual argument and a wardrobe manifesto.

Victor-Hart positions craftsmanship not as decorative flourish, but as the backbone of Defiants 2025. His brand emphasises working with artisans, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and blending it with the precision of Italian tailoring.

He also emphasises the brand’s resistance to fast fashion “noise” — the garments are meant for longevity, both in physical durability and in conceptual currency.

The launch of Defiants Part I was presented digitally (June 24, 2025) as part of the Milan Fashion Week calendar, while Defiants II made its runway debut during the September 2025 edition of Milan Fashion Week.
