Africa Fashion Week London proudly collaborated Tales by Bellafricana to spotlight five emerging designers on Sunday’s catwalk show. Tales by Bellafricana is an initiative dedicated to showcasing and supporting African creatives by connecting them with opportunities for visibility and growth. Through curated events, exhibitions, and collaborations, Tales by Bellafricana highlights the rich narratives embedded in African artistry and design.

The showcase featured five innovative designer collections, each bringing a unique perspective on contemporary African fashion:

  • GNATION
  • OYAATO
  • EFATA by Juba Clothing Brand
  • Elizabeth Fivine
  • Outspok’n Bespoke Tailors

These designers stepped into the spotlight bringing to life narratives of African identity, tradition, and innovation.

The event was more than a fashion show—it was collective storytelling. From intricate beadwork to innovative silhouettes, each collection delivered a chapter of Africa’s rich heritage, fused with contemporary flair. The runway pulsated with creative energy as designers asserted their cultural legacies in modern, bold strokes.

This collaboration marked another milestone in Tales by Bellafricana’s mission to amplify African talent and ensure their stories are shared with audiences worldwide. It was also part of a larger movement, celebrating African creativity on an international stage, transforming the catwalk into a vibrant stage for African talent, ensuring that their work resonated with audiences far beyond the runway.

And this is just the beginning. TALES is on a mission to take the African lifestyle experience to cities around the world,  opening new markets, forging meaningful connections, and rewriting the global narrative about African creativity.

ABOUT AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON

Africa Fashion Week London’s annual catwalk and exhibition event is one of the world’s largest and longest-running showcases of African and African-inspired fashion & design. Now in its 15th year, Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) has hosted 3000 emerging and established designers and exhibitors to 75,000 visitors, including buyers, retailers, industry professionals and global media.  Overall, 26 African countries and 67 countries have been represented, including diaspora designers from Brazil, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and the Americas. Additionally, AFWL has produced 12 third-party events such as the Southbank Centre’s Africa Utopia and Meltdown Festival, The Mayor of London’s Africa on the Square, and The Africa Centre’s Summer Festival. Such is the importance of AFWL, that the initiative positively impacts, directly and indirectly, over 5000 individuals annually including SMEs, designers, tailors, textile designers, students, visitors, models, stylists, photographers, journalists, caterers, artists, tech and production staff and lovers of fashion.
