The city of Lagos witnessed one of the most glamorous and star-studded celebrations of the year as media mogul Mo Abudu marked her 60th birthday. Known for her towering influence in the African entertainment industry and her reputation as a global ambassador of African excellence, Mo Abudu’s 1960s-themed birthday was nothing short of a breathtaking affair.

Mo Abudu, often hailed as “Africa’s Oprah,” has built an impressive legacy in film, television, and entrepreneurship. As the founder of EbonyLife Media, she has positioned African stories on the global stage, championing diversity, inclusivity, and the richness of African culture. Turning 60 was not just a personal milestone for her, but a celebration of decades of breaking barriers and redefining what it means to be a successful African woman in media.

Held at a EbonyLife Place, the celebration drew an array of high-profile guests from across Africa and beyond. The guest list included top Nigerian celebrities such as Rita Dominic, Ini Dima-Okojie, Shaffy Bello, Sharon Ooja Nwoke, Shade Okoya, Ebuka, business leaders, international dignitaries, all dressed to the nines in their 1960s-inspire attire, channelling the era’s elegance and sophistication. The evening was a display of star power and the party venue, tagged “Mo’s Wonderland“, was nothing short of spectacular.
