Beyond fashion, AFWL provides opportunities for internships, mentorship, and collaboration, empowering the next generation of creatives. The event also highlights the growing influence of content creators in amplifying Black pride and African heritage, making a lasting impact on both the fashion industry and cultural conversations. AFWL is more than a catwalk — it’s a celebration of identity, creativity, and empowerment.

Here are some of the catwalk designers who will be showcasing at Africa Fashion Week London 2024.

The Adire Oodua Textile Hub is dedicated to preserving the traditional Yoruba art of adire, a textile technique with deep cultural significance. Its connection to Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) stems from a moment of serendipity. Queen Ronke Ademiluyi, the founder of both organisations, who recognised the need for heritage preservation and the importance of providing designers with a reliable supply of authentic fabric.

Being in the right place at the right time, she created a link between the Hub and AFWL, ensuring that African designers have access to high-quality, traditional textiles while promoting African fashion on a global stage.

Look out for the Hub’s annual catwalk showcase of their beautiful designs and also look out for other designers using the Hub’s adire in their collections!
