“Killer Blacko” Makes Waves on the London Fashion Week Runway
Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif, aka “Killer Blacko,” walked the runway for Labrum London at the London Fashion Week 2024.
Forty years after its inception by the British Fashion Council, London Fashion Week has grown into one of the world’s most prominent fashion events.
The award-winning Ghanaian musician walked confidently down the runway in an eye-catching ensemble designed by Labrum London of the United Kingdom.
A leather bag, plain boots, matching trousers, and a generally masculine jacket made up Black Sherif’s outfit. His ensemble stood out from the rest of Labrum London’s collaborations, which draw from a mix of Western and West African fashion lines.
Created by Foday Dumbuya—CEO of Labrum London and designer for Blacko’s clothes—the “Shine Collection” highlights the African experience of overcoming adversity while recognising the perseverance of individuals who keep their eyes on the prize.
Black Sherif’s style surpasses fads. It makes a powerful case for the importance of authenticity, self-expression, and embracing one’s uniqueness. The “Sad Boyz” movement he started is now a culture unto itself, a phenomenon unto itself. Sincerity, personal narrative, and a celebration of individuality are what make it so inspiring to admirers around the world.
Over the years, Black Sherif has proven that he has a keen eye for style in the music business. His outfits frequently ignite discussions on social media.
