Nahous proudly celebrates the success of Tokyo James’ SS26 Women’s & Men’s Collection, CHAOS, presented on Sunday, September 28, during Milan Fashion Week.

The collection was a powerful meditation on dualities, structure and fluidity, order and disruption, with sharply tailored silhouettes contrasted against sculptural ruffles, shredded leather, and deconstructed forms. James’ signature craftsmanship, particularly his fearless use of leather, vividly brought the theme of CHAOS to life, securing the show as one of the week’s most striking presentations.

For this show, Tokyo James partnered with Nahous, the cultural foundation dedicated to supporting art and creativity across Africa. In celebration of this collaboration, five exclusive looks were created for Nahous and revealed on the runway. These pieces exemplify both James’ mastery of form and Nahous’ mission to champion African creativity on a global platform. The partnership underscores the importance of cultural institutions in shaping the future of fashion, while reinforcing James’ position as a designer bridging African heritage with international luxury.

Key Looks included:

● A structured leather jacket with cascading shredded panels paired with a floor-length skirt,
embodying the collision of structure and decay.
● An ivory sculptural ruffle mini-dress edged in burnt sienna.
● Beaded trouser and jumpsuit styled with leather crochet accessories.
● A striped tailored look finished with a bold sculptural red headpiece, merging tradition with
avant-garde experimentation.
● A textured suit accented with hand-beaded accessories, balancing precision with raw
craftsmanship.

These specially commissioned designs will be exhibited at Nahous, offering visitors an intimate opportunity to experience the artistry, precision, and cultural narrative embedded in the collection. By bringing runway creations into an exhibition space, Nahous affirms fashion’s ability to engage audiences like visual art, provoking thought, sparking emotion, and preserving contemporary stories for future generations.

For Nahous, this collaboration is more than creative exchange: it is a statement of presence on one of fashion’s most important stages. It challenges longstanding global imbalances in how creativity is represented, asserting that African fashion is not peripheral but central to today’s culturalion Week. conversation. By working with Tokyo James in Milan, Nahous continues its mission of positioning African design as both luxury and art, rooted in heritage yet speaking to a global audience.

“Supporting CHAOS was a chance to celebrate creativity and bold storytelling,” said Richard Vedelago, founder of Nahous. “This collaboration highlights our role as a space where fashion and art meet, and our mission to amplify voices that challenge conventions while staying grounded in
cultural identity.”

The Nahous exhibition will provide a dedicated space where audiences can engage with these exclusive looks up close, further extending the dialogue between fashion, art, and culture initiated on the Milan runway.
