A first-of-its-kind fashion runway show dedicated to plus-size women is set to be held in Lagos.

Organised by Plus-Size Fashion Week Africa (PFWA) the fashion runway show seeks to highlight plus-size models and apparel.

The event is scheduled to be held on 2nd September 2017 at the Main Banquet Hall of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos

The event will feature runway shows, exhibitions, business talks, fashion enterprise on skills acquisition as well as diet talks.

PFWA was birthed out of the need to stop the stigmatisation and body shaming of the plus-sized woman, according to the organisers, ‘we believe that every woman should be comfortable in her skin and body regardless of what the society thinks as long as they are healthy.’

The first set of designers to showcase their crafts have been released which are Agatha Moreno, Curve the plus size, Luvita Creations, and NIIFFE the call for designers is still ongoing so if you are a plus-size designer contact the organizers for an opportunity to showcase your designs.
