The 34-year-old Mimi, born in Ghana and who grew up in San Francisco, California, has joined the ranks of White House approved designers.

In 2016, she was invited to the White House to partake in the Celebration of Design Event hosted by the out-gone First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama. She partaking in the Celebration of Design Event didn’t just end there as she got the honor of dressing the out-gone First Lady Mrs. Obama for her appearance on an event. Michele Obama wore a trapunto periwinkle skirt from Mimi’s spring collection for her appearance on “The View” talk show.

Mimi Plange has gained recognition in the industry which has paved way for several honors like International Emerging Designer of the year at the Mercedes-Benz Africa Fashion Week in South Africa in 2011, Mayor Bloomberg’s Design Entrepreneurs Award held in New York in the year 2012.

Some of her collections have been worn by international personalities like Vanessa Hudgens, Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae and others around the world.

Mimi Plange, a Ghanaian – American fashion designer, is a graduate of San Francisco Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and also a degree holder in Architecture from the University of California.
