JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - The new Mr South Africa 2006 will be announced at the Protea Hotel Mongena Game Lodge near Pretoria on Friday 27. The pageant is in its 15th year and has attracted many handsome South African men countrywide but only 15 finalists were short listed for this year.

The winner will have to work closely with wildlife conservation groups as an ambassador. He will be working work closely with the wildlife education organizations from underprivileged regions throughout the country. Gert Claasen, the new pageant’s PR from Kaosela said “everything is running 100 percent on schedule”.

When A.N.D asked about the prizes and the contestants for the event, Gert said he still needed to confirm with the people involved as some details were still being finalised.

The finalists hail from all nine South African provinces, with different career backgrounds from optometrists, sales representatives to a company CEO, all fighting for one title, South Africa’s most beautiful man.

The qualities of Mr South Africa, over and above having good looks, are ‘inner power and strength, good looks and body and intelligence amongst other qualities”.

The tickets for the event are sold at the Susca Watts offices.
